Abstract
This study investigated the impact of organizational learning capability (OLC) on individual cognitive readiness for change (COGRE) and emotional readiness for change (EMRE). The moderating influence of flexibility skills between OLC, COGRE, and EMRE were also explored. Using the Readiness Scale of the Organizational Change QuestionnaireâÂÂClimate of Change, Processes, and Readiness Scale (Bouckenooghe et al., 2009); Organizational Learning Capability Questionnaire (Chiva et al., 2007); Purchasing Flexibility Questionnaire (Giunipero et al., 2005); and a demographic questionnaire, data were collected from a sample (N = 235) of technology purchasing professionals from North America, Western Europe, and Australia. Using multiple linear regressions, the findings point to statistically significant relationships between OLC, EMRE, and COGRE. Using multiple hierarchical regressions, the study found no moderation effects of flexibility skill on the relationship between OLC, EMRE, or COGRE. Understanding the role of OLC in technology purchasing professionalsâ change readiness provides valuable insights on how to get such professionals change-ready in an era of rapid internationalization through digitization and technological transformation.
